Kraakverbod webpage update

acab - 18.09.2010 22:26

There is now a new webpage ( http://kraakverbod.squat.net) for centralizing info about different actions and campaigns about the kraakverbod.

From now on the webpage will be kept updated so people have a place that links to all the information around.

For everyone working on different actions in any city, please send the information to the contact address: whatever@squat.net so we can put it on the webpage.

You are also encouraged to send nice motivational texts, information, designs, links to relevant news etc. Think there is not just one way to explain or see things, and we would like to have all of those represented!

If you think something on the webpage can be improved or isn't right, please also tell us through the email contact address and we will fix the problems, you can propose any improvements, better styling or anything that you feel important, we're there to support YOU.

For people who want to get responsible of the webpage, you're also welcome to get in touch, this is a collective process and you can be part of it.

Squatting is not a crime!

One in every six people on this planet is a squatter. Around the world, the land is owned by roughly 1/6th of the population. So there are as many squatters as owners, and two thirds of the population pay rent, a feodal heritage. Squatting is a necessity for many.

Banks lure workers into giving away everything they ever earned and saved to fullfill a dream: owning their own home; then take it all back, plus taxes, all at the expense of the public. Who is the criminal?

Squatters reclaim empty space for housing and social centers, mostly from the companies that own large domains and practice speculation (keeping a building empty for years to increase its price while entire families are on the waiting lists for a roof.) Who is the criminal?

Check the Wikipedia article on Squatting for more info.
