Freegan lifestyle for Roath student

Sep 1 2009 by James McCarthy, South Wales Echo

FREEGAN Becky Bond barely spends a penny in her quest to waste as little as possible.

The 21-year-old regularly dines on dinner using food left over from shops in her street.

The politics and languages student admitted she does a “lot of dumpster diving” as part of her freegan lifestyle – freegans salvage food and goods others label waste.

Becky, who lives in Albany Road, Roath, said: “There is a grocer really close by where they used to put their rubbish in skips but they have given up now.
